At the heart of this journey is a simple truth: everything we have has first been given to us by God. Through Christ we have received grace, forgiveness, purpose, and freedom. Our response is to live with open hands and surrendered hearts. Freely is an invitation to walk together in faith—to trust God more deeply and to allow Him to shape our hearts through generosity. As we seek His Kingdom first, we believe He will grow us spiritually, strengthen our unity, and expand our impact. This is not simply about what will be built or paid off. It is about what God desires to build within us. As we give freely, we learn to trust Him fully.

Brookhaven Wesleyan Church stands at a defining moment. After years of faithful stewardship, we have the opportunity to remove the weight of debt and position our church to serve and minister with greater freedom for generations to come. As we look ahead toward Brookhaven’s 100th anniversary, we believe this season will become a defining chapter in our story—one where we trusted God fully and invested faithfully in the future of His Kingdom.

Beyond our Walls

God calls us to extend His love beyond our church into our community and the world. Freely strengthens ministries that share hope and freedom with people who may never otherwise encounter Christ.
Opportunities
Give 10% of campaign funds to missions to bless missionaries, global mission projects, and mission fields we support.

Support the food pantry and community programs through improved spaces and maintenance that allows people to see the hope and freedom found in Jesus Christ.

Strong Foundations

Healthy ministry grows from strong foundations. By strengthening Brookhaven’s financial and physical infrastructure, we create stability that frees us to focus on ministry.
Opportunities
Retire remaining church debt enabling BWC to be completely debt free - freeing up significant resources for reaching people, reducing financial strain, and positioning our church to pursue future opportunities with greater flexibility and faithfulness. 

Establish an operational reserve fund that provides a financial cushion for unexpected challenges and for greater financial health.

Growing Disciples

Our heart is to see people of every generation grow into fully devoted followers of Christ. By investing in discipleship environments, we help individuals and families deepen their faith and discover their purpose

Redesign student ministry spaces that are vibrant,
inviting, and practical to improve connection and
discipleship in the next generation.

Redesign Family Center gym ceiling to replace existing dilapidated tiles with an option that supports our sports ministries and improves safety.

Enhance worship platform to allow for improved functionality and flexibility for worship, teaching and special events.

Open Doors

We seek to create a church where every person encounters welcome, belonging, and the love of Christ from the moment they arrive. By improving our spaces and removing barriers, we open the door for people to experience hope and freedom in Jesus.
Opportunities
Replace Sanctuary and Family Center Roofs preventing leaks and further damage and extending building life.

Replace aging HVAC units to ensure a comfortable, welcoming, and hospitable environment for all who gather.

Replace flooring in Family Center to provide a safer and friendlier welcome in a high-traffic ministry space.

Improve signage to assist in wayfinding and visibility.

Acquire new chairs and tables in the Family Center that allow for continued use well into the future.

Update church minibus wraps to extend service life and improve recognition in and about the community.

Redo the parking lot to create a safer, more welcoming, and easier arrival experience for everyone.

Renovate main lobby with greater first impressions focus.

What is Freely?
Freely is an opportunity for our church family to invest in the future of Brookhaven Wesleyan Church. Through this journey, we are creating space for more people to encounter the hope and freedom found in Jesus while strengthening the foundation of ministry for generations to come.
Why Now?
God continues to work in and through Brookhaven in powerful ways. At the same time, our facilities and finances require important attention, and this moment provides a unique opportunity to address key needs while positioning the church to serve and minister with greater freedom in the years ahead.
What will be included in this initiative?
Freely will address several important priorities across our campus, including facility improvements, ministry spaces for discipleship and gathering, and strengthening the church’s long-term financial foundation.
How much are we seeking to raise?
Our goal is to raise $900,000 over three years, above and beyond our regular giving, to strengthen our ministry foundation and prepare Brookhaven for the future.
When will the initiative be completed?
Freely is designed as a three-year journey, allowing our church family to prayerfully participate and give over time.
Should I redirect my regular giving to Freely?
No. Your regular giving continues to support the ongoing ministry and operations of the church. Freely commitments are intended to be above and beyond normal giving as the Lord leads.
How much should I give?
Each person’s commitment will be different. We encourage everyone to prayerfully seek God and ask what step of faith He may be inviting them to take as part of this journey.
Will my commitment be made public?
No. Every commitment is handled with care and remains completely confidential.
Can I revise my commitment later?
Yes. If your circumstances change, you are welcome to adjust your commitment at any time by contacting freely@brookhavenwesleyan.org.
How can I give?
Gifts may be made through the church’s regular giving channels, including envelopes, online giving, or other methods provided by Brookhaven.
Is it possible to give non-cash gifts?
Yes. In addition to monetary gifts, we are able to discuss other forms of giving such as stocks, conversion of investment funds, retirement funds, or personal property. Contact the church treasurer before making a gift.
Do I have to give everything at once?
No. Commitments may be fulfilled over time—weekly, monthly, annually, or in a single gift—depending on what works best for you.
Where can I learn more about Freely?
Updates will be shared with the congregation throughout the campaign, and additional information will be available through the church and on this website.
